Privacy
No accounts, no tracking
Qibla Finder has no user accounts and collects no personal data. There is no analytics in v1 — we do not measure who visits, what they read, or how long they stay. Nothing you do on this site is sent to us.
Stored only on your device
Your reading progress, bookmarks and preferences are saved in your browser's localStorage — on your device, nowhere else. The keys used are:
qp-last-readYour last-read surah and ayah, so reading can continue where you left off.qp-bookmarksYour bookmarked ayahs (as "surah:ayah" entries).qp-font-sizeYour preferred Arabic font size in the reader.qp-reciterYour chosen audio reciter.qp-speedYour chosen audio playback speed.qp-themeYour light/dark theme preference.
Clearing your browser data removes all of it. There is no server-side copy and no way for us to recover it.
Location stays on your device
The Qibla finder uses your device's geolocation only to compute the direction to the Kaaba inside your browser. Your coordinates are never transmitted to us or to any third party by this site. (Your browser itself may require a secure HTTPS connection before it shares precise location at all.)
Third-party content
Recitation audio streams directly from EveryAyah.com and Quran text data is served from a CDN (jsDelivr). When your browser fetches those files, those services see a normal web request (IP address, file requested) just like any website visit — we have no control over their logs, and we share nothing with them ourselves.
